We arrived safely this afternoon around 4pm local time (12 hours ahead of EST). The flights went really well, but after 13 hours on the plane we were very happy to be back on the ground!
Some of you may have heard about the terential rains Beijing experienced yesterday. Luckily the flooding has already subsided, and aside from a two hour delay in Chicago (the aircraft was delayed from Beijing) our trip was unphased by the rain.
We are now settled in our hotel and shared a delicious meal with Mary Gao our incredibly gracious hostess, and her daughter Michelle and colleague Claire. Tomorrow we will be visiting Feng Tai First as well as exploring Beijing. Stay tuned!
