Medellin
gigantic dog I left Santa Marta on a rainy cloudy day, not sure if I would make it on time to the terminal... well...I finally got there dragging the biggest suitcase mankind has ever seen or produced. The bus was scheduled to leave at 6.30 pm, but of course we only left at 7.00 pm...it is after all, Colombia and time is relative!. The journey was long, waaaaaay too long, we got to Medellin at 12.00 am on Thursday. Two guys from Aiesec Eafit picked me up, we had lunch and I left my things at Arturo's place, a trainee from Mexico. Afterwards we went straight to the university and I was introduced to the Academic Coordinators.
Eafit Language Center is devided into two departments, English for Adults and English for Children and Adolescents.I was told I would be working on both programmes for the following 6 months. It's all new and exciting and I am looking forward to this big change!
I felt knackered as I hadn't slept a wink in over 2 days, so after meeting the coordinators and other teachers at
Eafit, I went straight to bed.
Today I got a chance to visit Medellin a bit, I mean
EAFIT University
my new work place for the next 6 months I just took the metro from
Aguacatala and got off randomly at a busy station and did a bit of sightseeing.
I am posting some photos taken in
Plaza Botero, I love the huge monumental statues all around
Museo de Antioquia, they are spectacular! Botero's chubby statues are famous all over the world and give a very authentic air to this beautiful city. I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy living in Medellin!
