Today was a slight change of plan.

Straight after breakfast i handed out the team shirts that Surrey Sports Park provided. Also, presenting many footballs i spent the night pumping up. It was a moment to treasure as everyone felt like they had status and all part of one family. Excited to experience forthcoming events.

As opposed to the swimming pool today, i took everyone to a 3G football pitch, where we spent a few hours going through fun games and basic football skills and drills. Of course, ending with a game, it was a joy to behold as it made a change for them to play on something other than concrete.

We returned to the refuge, to take part in a mega volleyball match with some of the children and all the local staff. It was epic, only to end up in a mega spontaneous water fight, i could not believe the water we went through, but i certainly never caused that kind of laughter and chaos when i was their age. It was serious fun.

It is so inspiring to see so many young ones with almost nothing, minimal if not any family, yet be so happy together.

Nice one!!
So proud of you Tom. What an amazing achievement & experience you're having. I know you'll treasure these times for years to come and so will the children you're surrounded by. It's experiences like these that highlight how complicated and jam packed 'Western' life can be! We celebrated your mums birthday over the weekend. Was great to see her & Grandma. (both looking so lovely) We all missed you but were grinning from ear to ear knowing you're enjoying such a fulfilling journey. Keep on at it Battley. You're doing a mighty fine job xx
