We've had a lovely, packed two days in Germany. Yesterday morning we drove to Boppard and after eating and such, we caught a Rhine River cruise. Along our cruise we saw... 4ish castles. We had a river view of the compact, old towns. We got off for an hour and a half at another town along the way and we had the experience of touring the ruins of a castle from the 1200s! It was super awesome, as you can see from the pictures. We went to our campsite, from which we could see the back of the same castle. My dad had the fantastic idea of hiking uphill both ways to the castle, just to see it again. So we did. It was rough. But the views were unbelievable.
Today we watched a Rev. Dykstra sermon on the laptop, then drove to Worms, where Martine Luther was held on trial for heresy before the Diet of Worms. We went in St. Peter's Dom, the structure where the trial was held. It was built in 1100, and some of the names in the crypt were from the 900s! I'd describe it, but I'm sure you'd rather see the pictures. Then
we moseyed on over to Heidelberg, and saw the Holy Ghost Church and the University where Ursinus and Olevianus worked. The streets were packed with people, and it was neat to see the straight, tall buildings built a long time ago. Dad and Tia and Tara went up to the Heidelberg castle.
I think that's all, do look at the pictures... they start before we left, with packing and such. Au Revoir!
