salares de Uyuni
Just back now...
It was good but not as I'd expected. We spent nearly all the time in the jeep, which was quite cramped.
First day and I got an extra lolipop for sighting 4 condors on the ground. Apparently they were hunting. There was a mother and 3 young. I'd only ever seen them in the air before, so I was well chuffed (mostly about the lolipop though). My camera is useless so I don't have any good photos but some of the other in our group might have though. Will check.

There were 6 of us tourists and a driver and a translator. The driver normally guides also but didn't spèak any English so we had a translator, Arcil. He was very funny and we gave him quite a hard time. We had to travel alongside another jeep full of London boys, as they had the cook. She was a bit of a witch and on the last morning, came into our room and berated Mario for giving her hell for the previous 3 days. It was really funny cos he'd never said anything more than hello or thanks to her.
Anyway during the trip we saw lots

salares too
of llamas, mountains, desert, salt, flamingos (Andean, Small Paraguayan and James ones!), weird moss stuff, lakes, um and lots of dust.
The food was pretty shoddy all through the trip but luckily I didn't get sick. The first night we slept in a freezing barracks of a place with an altitude of 4660m- that was the highest we got to. A lot of people got altitude sickness, but not I!

Oops it's now 15th June and I've still not finished any of these damned things. Feck it anyway. The salt flats were well good- we took weirdy photos, damn I didn't bring my cd with the photos on to upload. Ah well.. next time.
But I do recommend going to see them- just too lazy to write all the descriptive stuff about them...
