So Walt and I started off on our journey Sunday morning. We decided not to trust the unreliable car that JUST got back from the mechanic, and instead decided to bus it. Mike and Mavis were also taking that bus from Tegucigalpa to La Ceiba as they were catching the ferry to Roatan, so it was nice. We head over to the Hedman Alas office Saturday afternoon and purchased the tickets for Sunday. Hedman Alas is a first class bus line that has great comfy and reclining seats as well as a bathroom on board, AC and TVs showing movies. Plues you get a little snack too. It cost us about $25 per person for the 7 hour bus ride. Totally worth it to travel in comfort.

The bus went to San Pedro Sula and then transfered and we were on our way to Ceiba. I had set it up ahead of time with the owner of Omega Jungle Lodge (GREAT help and fast service), and she set up a taxi to pick us up right from the bus station. He was waiting with an Omega Tours sign and we were off to the hotel.

The hotel was about

a 25 min drive and we were pumped once we got here. There's a fresh water pool (that's surprisingly clean!), a great bar and restaurant area, and hammocks to lie in. There's a solar powered outdoor shower that makes you feel like you're doing a photoshoot for some Sports Illustrated magazine (It's THAT nice!) and just a great tranquilo atmosphere.

Last night we spent the night in a small room in the guesthouse with single beds and bunk beds, but were very happy to be upgraded to a nicer room for the next 3 nights that has a double bed, and its own private balcony with personal hammock and table and chairs.

We're eating well too! Yesterday for lunch we shared a giant chicken salad with mustard dressing, and garlic shrimp with rice and plantains. For dinner we shared chicken cordon bleu and spicy chicken wings. For breakfast today, Walt had a typical plate with eggs, beans, and tortillas. I had a cheese and bacon omlette. Oh YES! And all the meals are served with homemade bread! MMMMM!

We met some nice Kiwis (New Zealanders) who were also sleeping in the guesthouse last night and they were on our rafting tour today too so that's nice.

I forgot to mention that a night in the guesthouse (even with our nice private balcony) is included in the price of your tours so that's nice. We also get lunch included too. We're loving it. More about our first tour in the next entry!!!!!
