Edit Blog Post

Never done a blog before but thought it would be fun to look back on later...
Tick tock tick tock.
I still have to work 2 more days! Who am I kidding? I'm just sitting in my chair at my computer not doing a damn thing but waiting to go on vacation!
Chris and I will be boarding a plane from Tulsa to Fort Lauderdale at 7:00 am Saturday for our first ever cruise! This will be for our 20th anniversary. We've been to the Virgin Islands and LOVE it there but wanted to try something a little different but still get the whole toes in the sand cocktail in the your hand atmosphere.
So as we are getting ready I've been going thru this whole checklist in my head...
Passports? Shorts? Light jacket? What's the weather gonna be like? What exactly does "FORMAL" night mean when I don't even own a dress? Can I eat lobster every night? Just how much are drinks on the ship?
And 1,000 other questions a first time cruiser has. I will attempt to address these and other questions and issues that arise during our trip as well as post photos of the places we go and see. And if no one ever reads this but... That's okay too. This is for me. ; - )

Here's what we did: Almost a year ago we decided to do this cruise and started looking at dates and where from where to and so on. We are both from the Tulsa area but had free Southwest points so our departure port was open. We decided to go out of Miami. We will be traveling on the Carnival Glory. Depart from Miami on 12/12/10. "fun day at sea" on the 13th. The to Cozumel Mexico on the 14th. From there we go to Belize on the 15th, Isla Roatan on the 16th and Grand Cayman on the 17th. Then another "fun day at sea" and back to Miami on the 19th. Returning to Tulsa on the 20th.
Because we booked early we got a fairly good "early saver" price and upgraded our stateroom to a balcony. Total price we've paid for our cruise including gratuities (you can choose to pre-pay - the cruise line suggests $10 per day per person) is $1,467.68.
