Its about time

Been there done that. As a first time cruiser I had certain expectations. Some of those expectations were perhaps unrealistic. Below is a list of my thoughts and experiences on the Carnival Cruise ship Glory... • Food. All food is amazing on the ship. FALSE. Most of the food is mediocre at best. Most of the food is served warm - cold. The only HOT food I've received while onboard has been in the steak house that we had to pay $30 extra. It was amazing! We ate in the dining room most nights and enjoyed good company. The buffets found on the ship aren't near as good as those found in Vegas. • Lodging. Your stateroom will be beyond your expectations. Happy Anniversary to us! We spent today in Belize. It was our 20th. Here's to 20 more. I love you Chris. Got up early and caught a boat full of Rastas out to a wee little hump of land out in the middle of the barrier reef off of Belize. The water was pretty choppy and the current strong but the water was still pretty clear. The strong current made snorkeling a little more work but we still had fun and managed to get some decent pictures. We saw some some of the largest brain coral ever. After swimming for about an hour we made it to the island and for $5.00 you could rent a beach chair. For $12.00 you could buy 2 grilled lobsters and a sausage taco. The morning stared out cold and cloudy. But after the boat rocked all night I was just glad to get my feet on solid ground! We decided to wing it and not book an excursion with boat today. Got off the boat and walked around the main shopping arena then decided to rent a jeep. The jeep was $65 plus the insurance so we spend about $95 for the jeep total. We drove around the entire island of Cozumel in less than 45 minutes. Chris stated drinking beer and I soon became the designated driver for the day. We went to Senor Frogs, Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville and Carlos & Charlies. Chris' mission while we were on this island was to try and drink at least 1 beer from every bar. Not really. Woke up this morning to large swells. Went and ate breakfast then made arrangements to have a massage… AMAZING!!!! As the day has progressed very few people are out due to the weather. The pools are all closed. It's cold, cloudy and the boat is moving like CRAZY. When we walk down the halls we just bounce from one wall to the other side. I'm not sick but don't feel great either. Fun day at seas sucks. Busy day! Got up early and ate a wonderful breakfast of eggs benedict at the Hyatt. Then off to Target to get Chris a couple pairs of shorts. Then checked out and headed back to Miami. Found the Port of Miami with no problems but it took us about 6 times around the block (turning the wrong way down a one way street) to find the Hertz car rental return. Once we found Hertz we drove back over to a shopping area and looked around just to waste time. Loads of over proceed junk designed for tourists.
