I landed in Delhi on the 21st of september. I was excited. The amount of people working in the streets was amazing. Children carrying bricks, their mothers also. Basically, Delhi was not ready to host the Commonwealth games and it showed. For two nights I stayed in a sweet hotel. The nicest one in India in fact, I was living vip. The internet there was fast too. Fast enough to download stuff. Unlike this internet cafe I'm in now. Lame lame.
The day before I left I also decided to check out Old Delhi, because I was in the area. So I took the metro and it was awesome. Guards with AK-47s everywhere, well, they were above ground too carrying everything from revolvers, automatic handguns, sub machine guns, 12 gauge single barrel shot guns, etc.. Underground they make you go through a beep gate and then they search your bag looking for bombs and shit. They look for wires, headphones and charge cable freak them out like no other. The payment method is based on distance and they charge you for a small plastic coin that recognizes where you get on and where you get off. Its pretty damn cool. Old Delhi is way better than New Delhi. The scenery here was so post nuclear I felt something good inside. Wires hanging from every corner, mud, grime, trash pretty much everywhere, and of course an overwhelming amount of people.
The next stop was Shimla, so I got a ticket for an AC volvo bus and took off.
