We left Cedar Rapids, IA at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 29 and arrived in Rome at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 30. Needless to say, we were exhausted. However, to get on schedule, after a quick shower we headed off to Rome Central. Our first goal was to walk around and get to know the area and we did that until about 5 p.m. Then we headed back to our hotel for a short nap. Then off again to see the night life and have dinner - Pizza and Pasta - YUM! Needless to say we slept soundly that night.

Today started off with a typical European breakfast of an assortment of breads, yogurt and honey, espresso, eggs and fruit. Once again we walked around and ended up with a tour through the Vatican. Amazing it the only way to explain it. We are now heading off for some more Pizza and then off to bed.

Here are a few pictures to wet your appetite. Rich will be writing on the www.wordfortheworld.net blog soon.
