There are so many things going through my mind right now that I cannot even focus on any one of them.

Most things center around...

1) getting visas and my passport and buying tickets for January...

2) finding a federal job for me upon returning...

3) getting Lenin´s English up to speed, teaching him to drive, finding work, dealing with January coldness for both of us, etc.

Mostly that is what is going through my mind. Oh, and all the damn paperwork to finish my service here.

So papers. Visas. Tickets. Jobs.

Thank you very much, mbaade, for you kind thoughts after the quake. It was down on South Island, and I live in North Island, so it was pretty weak by the time it got up here, but I do have friends in Lincoln/Christchurch that I'm still waiting to hear from. One of the buildings I lived in down there is on the news a lot as an example of the destruction. From what I hear, though, it sounds like my friends should be OK; they just probably don't have power yet to get in touch. I've got a housemate who's been saying we're due for a biggie ever since the quakes in Chile and Japan. He was right. Thank you again. ALSO: Congratulations so much on being a married lady now! Felidades y enhorabuena!
