Arjuna and monkey
At the monkey school Greetings fellow travellers and or readers.
Almost a month has passed since we arrived and in a few days our schools and studies will begin.
We have done some excursions around the island and visited the monkey school. Yes a school for monkeys. They come down from the mountains in the morning to get some food and will then be chained to something and trained. Not sure in what because we choose to just mingle with the young ones instead of opting for the whole show.
Cute little fellows but with hard bites and sharp teeth. I guess they didn't like me too much or just wanted to go back to the jungle to play again. But every morning they come back for the food and chain. Different monkeys according to the trainer too. Made me wonder what food they provided..
We also went to Old Lanta town. The first town on the island, before the tourists. Really a nice little town and a lot more down to earth then the tourist spots. They had a wonderful shop with the most beautiful hammocks made in the northern parts of thailand. Gonna bring at least one of them
with me back home to Sweden.
We also been walking in the mangroves a little. A nice place for a trip with a kayak if you don't feel like trying for some kayak surfing in the open sea. Looks pretty scary with these kinds of waves, but will most certainly try that as well.
Off again, until next time.
Peace

Don't they teach the monkeys to pick coconuts (or maybe some other fruit)
