Bonjourno,

We are officially in Rome, and finished with Cairo. It was rather hard to leave, we actually cried because we had such an awesome time. On our last night, we did a dinner cruise down the Nile. We enjoyed some traditional dancing and music. But, of course, some belly dancing. Our new tour guide, Ahmed, offered to take us downtown to walk the streets. He was very interested in spending time with two hot women. We went through the active streets where he took us to his most favourite Cafe. It was packed, packed with Egyptian men. They were almost sitting on each other to watch the Fifa Final game, Spain vs. Poland. It was a great atmosphere, especially when they all cheered as one. Jackie really loved the cockroach that climbed up to visit her.
Later, Ahmed took us through the streets for a real life game of Frogger (very literally). Jackie and I were beyond words terrified. The only way to get through the streets is to zig zag through the speeding cars, buses, donkeys, and carts. The rule is, it is like a game, but you have to win. At one point, one of us was skimmed by a car, but untouched. I was scared, but really enjoyed the experience. Our flight was delayed for 2 hours, so we spent 4 hours sitting in Cairo because the air traffic in Europe. But, Jackie made a lucky snag.. An extremely hot Egyptian pilot wanted to switch flights to be with her, but he couldnt.
Here we are in Rome, and to be fair... it doesnt smell like pee. It was only the airport. The city is HOT HOT HOT. It was 40 today, which is doing wonders to our stomachs. It wasnt this hot in the desert! The city is beautiful. We went to the Colliseum today. We also went to the Pantheon, the Spanish steps, etc..... My favourite part was Navona Piazza. We looked at and bought some artwork.
We really are trying to give Rome a fair chance, but the heat is killing us. Luckily, none of us have been sunburnt yet! We even had offers in helping us reapplying sunscreen. But, of course, we said no.
Tomorrow, we are off to the Vatican City and we are going to enjoy some of the nightlife. Rachel was right, it is truly a beautiful city. We will write back to you in London!
Ciao Bella

Hot time in Rome
Good to know that you won't let strange Italian men apply your sunscreen! Have fun - but not too much fun!
