Hey again guys, 2 blogs in 2 days you should feel priveleged! Its Sarah here; thought it'd be a good idea to let you know what we did with our time in the Whitsundays before we reach melbourne tomorrow. Today we did a full day trip around the Whitsunday Islands and went snorkelling - the scuba really paid off, we were both a lot better this time! - and saw some pretty amazing fish; everything is so brightly coloured but you'd be surprised how chilly Oz actually is at this time of year! I was freezing and regretting not wearing a wet suit, but it was pretty cool. As most of the Whitsunday Islands are controlled by National Parks there are really strict rules about not taking anything or standing on anything etc, but, on going there, you can really understand what the government are trying to preserve. A few of the islands are built up with posh hotels, one which, our tour guide claims, has its cheapest rooms at $700 a night (thats about 450 pounds - so we thought we'd give that a miss!). We also went to Whitehaven beach which is rated as one of the top 10 beaches in the world, 4th bext picture spot in Oz and its not over estimated! Crystal clear waters, white sands, wonderful sunshine and I really could imagine myself calling the travelling to a halt, getting a tent, a bit of food and just staying there forever - I'd really recommend it to anyone 'specially as our tour guide was saying this pure sand is created through tectonic plate movement which has now stopped so it won't be there forever!
That was Ed's birthday present from Mut and vat (Mum and dad) so thanks very much! It was an awesome day and we're both feeling a bit tired now but have to get packing as we're travelling tomorrow. However, with half a day spare we've tried to find something to do (the sea kayaking I think we mentioned, well that was fully booked) so we're now going round the rainforest on this route which takes you round a waterfall too 😊 should be awesome.
Fam, hope you have an awesome time in USA - bet you're all very excited now! Lesley/Alex if either of you want uggs we could pick them up in Sydney if you want. Also, final point, anyone want to shotgun airport pick up on our long awaited arrival? Course we'd love to see you all but just let us know etc
lots of love xxxxxxxx

The wonders of Whitehaven beach
Hey guys, great to hear from you again and we're really pleased that you both enjoyed Ed's birthday present. Lesley and I were chatting on the way back from dropping you at the airport and I think we kind of assumed that we'd be collecting you (if that's okay with Adrian). Very happy to go along with whatever you want. Whitehaven beach sounds absolutely amazing - I can totally understand wanting to stay there. I bet you'll be glad to spend a whole week in Melbourne as travelling such long distances plus jet lag must be exhausting. I'll message you again before we go. Everyone getting very excited here as you can imagine. Take care of yourselves and hope you enjoy the rainforest. Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxx
