Well, first of all, we would like to say that we miss all of you. Especially, the birthday people, Erin and Dad! I am sure I can find something in the street to bring back to you. And of course, Jackie too!
We are absolutely depressed. It is our last day in Cairo, and with Medhat. We actually cried when we had to say goodbye. Shh, mom sorry... but, yes we went with a strange person, Medhat, secretly to go experience the "real" Egypt. He took us without pay, drove us around, took us shopping, and treated us to traditional Egyptian food. It was surprisingly good. We couldn't tell people because the company would get mad. We would be taking business away from them. For anyone who knows me, he took me to a jewelry store! (Shannon) Obviously, he was awesome!
The heat hasn't been too bad, but we went to the pyramid light show where we could enjoy the magical pyramids in the cool of the evening. Jackie and I also had an interesting experience in the market, Bazaar. Jackie did an awesome job of bartering. It was pure insanity! "Hey Cleopatra" , " Hey beauty momma", "Hey sister", "nice hair", etc. screamed at you constantly. WE DID NOT go into the backs of any stores. See, Moms and Dads, we were being smart.
We really enjoy the Egyptian museum. The mummies (and jewelry) were fantastic. It was so hot in there! Medhat knew everything and was able to explain everything. I think we are having a little separation anxiety because he has been a parent to us, looking out for us this whole time.
Believe it or not, we did attempt to go to a store at night. We made it two blocks and turned around because a 5 year old was chasing us! She was screaming at us! We were scared! Silly it seems to you, but you had to be there. The 5 year olds are really big here. (2 feet)
We will be partying on a Nile Cruise tonight and flying to Rome in the morning. I hope we have as good time there as we did here.
