Miraflores Food and Aunt Erica

Victoria´s aunt Erica came and visited a couple of times and we went to dinner at a shopping mall build into the cliffs above the bay and another quite posh restaraunt down on the bay itself.

The wharf you can see protruding into the bay is the posh restaurant we went to. Its constructed as a large tent off the back of the main building, right on the beach.

The mall itself is quite pretty. From the top, its just a medium sized park between the road and the cliff.
The cliffs themsleves are composed of ancient crumbling dried mud rather than rock, which made me think that things would get pretty hairy if it ever REALLY rained in Lima.

As it is, in the month we´ve been in Peru I have yet to see more than a few scattered drops of rain anywhere in Peru, which seems weird for a coastal environment.

The mall restaurant was expensive for Peru, but cheap for Australia.
The posh restaurant was a very fancy, high end kind of place that fed the three of us for around AU$110 (253 soles)

The main uniquely peruvian item of food pictured are banana´s, but not as we know them.
They are larger (about a foot long), green and not as sweet as the type available in australia.
