Here she is in all her glory, taken from one of the nearbye mountains that overlook the city and Beagle strait.
Well, Sunday night we arrived in Ushuaia after our last southbound bus ride. The bus ride was 12 hours and quite enjoyable because frankly, I slept the entire way. We made our first South Africa connection, a nice fellow who offered us a meal when we get there. Not sure exactly when that will be.

Ushuaia is a beautiful city, the route we took from Punta Arenas was mainly dirt roads, and after a quick stint on the ferry we also crossed into Terra del Fuego. The boat ride was a short 20 minutes, we spotted a dolphin and thus we were quite entertained. It was quite curious though because the dolphin looked black and white, so I am not sure what type of dolphins they have down here, or whether I just cannot trust my eyes anymore but I will have to look into it to find out. I want to thank everyone that has been sending messages and comments to the blog, it is always appreciated to hear from each and every one of you.

Ushuaia is a really beautiful town, it reminds me of what Alaska would be like. It rests on the water, with a

fair sized port and like many of the places we have been visiting -it used to be a penal colony. Now it seems the place has had a second chance at life with all the tourism, and can be safely considered a city, and thus the furthest city south in the world. There are some villages south, on the various islands across the "Canal Beagle", however I do not believe any of them have populations over 100 people.

Today Jord and I took a walk to the nearby ski resort, the name of which I do not recall, we agreed it was quite nice to be on a ski mountain after all this time, even if it was quite the small excuse for a ski resort. We managed to hike from the bottom of the hill to the top, and beyond in about 2 hours, and almost no time at all to head down along their main run just beside the chairline.

Tomorrow we have plans to venture out into the Canal Beagle and try to find some elephant sea lions? Maybe some more penguins and seals or whatever else seems to be hanging out. We were also

I finally found a ski run and lift on the trip... However I think there is something missing.
surprised to find that there are beavers down here, I had no idea they existed here, however I did later learn they were actually brought down and populated from Canada. Awkwardly enough there is a guy sharing our room that is here studying and filming these beavers who claims they are plaguing their entire Eco-system and was none to pleased to hear how proud we were the little fellows were getting along just fine on the other side of the world.

Our plan is to head to Bariloche soon, we had wanted to find a cheap flight but that does not seem likely and thus we will likely begin a northbound bus marathon, thankfully, at this point we are seasoned veterans.

About the missing Snow
Hi there! I readed a commentary that you couln´t find the snow you said the snow was missing. As you already know When in the north hemisphere is winter, here in the south is summer. So, you were in the end of the world maybe on summer or spring, but not winter. In these part of the world you can easily find snow everywhere!! Greetings
