so im travel blogging once again. had a few qualms about the whole idea. even imposed a hiatus since i did the karakoram highway (china-pak-india) 2 yrs ago. for a variety of reasons. like pure indolence. and like how my writing can come across as overly elaborate and ostentatious. which is completely tangential to the very raison d'etre for writing. 2 yrs on, the moratorium has been lifted. writing and wanderlust, prime partners in crime.

attached is the itinerary; b & i'd be doing south india together for about 5 wks. always knew i'd come back to india, or the south asian subcontinent for that matter. thought that i nvr quite did it justice; india always having had the short end of the stick after pakistan raised the bar really high for me. compounded by the delhi belly as well. didnt quite make for the most charming permutation for an extended indian summer haha.
so yes india beckons. and i cannot be more thankful and stoked to be travelling with b. i adore the fact that she's always game and intrepid enough to rough it out with me,making incursions into new terrain and orbiting the globe with me. this time we had to compromise abit and book our trains in advance. quite a revolting thought to countenance considering how being circumscribed by schedule and deadlines is very grating. but well its a compromise, like i said. after the harrowing experience on 2nd class unreserved indian trains 2 yrs ago, it was the furthest thing from enchanting and delectable Darjeeling Unlimited film, and I owe it to myself la to score a better gig this time around.

after 5 wks b leaves for korea for summer sch and i'd be off on my own! will be headed to northeast india, where i get a brief reprieve from the indian india. will be a breath of fresh air, checking out the likes of darjeeling and sikkim. INDIA here we come! watch this space!! much love to the folks at home.
