Edit Blog Post

I've somehow managed to become severely behind on my blogs so I'll just start from the transition from the East to the West. After spending 2 and a half days on a train I arrived in Jasper, with 2 french lads by my side that I'd met on the train, neither of whom spoke more than 2 words of English between them! I was supposed to be meeting Lucy later that night in the hostel, but when I got to the station, I was standing on the platform and I saw someone running towards me...It was Lucy! She'd got an earlier bus and had waited for my train to get in. I swear I have never been more happy to see anyone in my life! I felt so happy to see a familiar face.

The view was absolutely breathtaking in Banff, and our hostel was right in the mountains. Lucy and I decided that we'd take a walk into town once we'd checked in. 7km later and an hour later, we arrived and headed straight to the pub, it was after all, happy hour!

The same night, the 2 lads from Kent who we'd met in Toronto, turned up at our hostel. The next couple of days were pretty fun. On our last night Lucy and I headed out with some of the hostel staff, to a bar where they were playing live blues music. The cocktails were amazing and so cheap...we all got a little tipsey. The next morning we had to be up at 7 to get our bus to Banff.

Banff is a more commercial version of Jasper I guess, still as equally stunning. I think I've had some of the best days here since I started my trip. The first night we arrived we met up with a couple of lads who had been in our Toronto hostel, and a few aussies so the next day we decided we'd all do something together. We headed up to the hot springs in the mountain. Oh my god it was brilliant. I found myself sitting in a 40 degree pool in my bikini surrounded by the snow capped mountains! We then headed to the shops to stock up with food and went back to the hostel to do a BBQ. Lucy and I finished off a couple of bottles of wine whilst the aussies who are obviously kings of BBQs, cooked all our food for us! We then headed in to play drinking games.

The next day we decided to go up to Sulphur mountain on the gondola. When we got to the top there was a wooden walkway that connected to mountain peaks together which we then walked across. We stopped off on the way back to get more alcohol and begain the drinking games again. What a night! The 2 lads we'd met from Norfolk managed to get themselves arrested last night...good job we decided against going into town with them!

So tomorrow we're heading to lake Louise...should be really pretty. I'll get uploading some photos soon.

Miss you all,

Amy xxx
