What an amazing place to ski!! Banff is the perfect town to stay in with massive ski mountains all around. We have a ski pass for Mt Norquay, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village. On the first day (I think I mentioned) we went to Norquay, which was nice but there were only about four runs open and Adam was just starting to learn. So on day 2 we went to Sunshine Village, which we ended up going to quite a lot. It’s perfect. There’s a gondola that takes you up the mountains to the chair lifts, and you can get off halfway and ski at the halfway point or you can keep going up the very top to the village, and get the lifts up to the clouds. Unfortunately on our first day in Sunshine we ... read more

He had lived in Texas and Canada for a while and is married to a Canadian girl. We drove the scenic journey from Lake Louise to Banff, watching for deer and elk crossing specially constructed wildlife bridges over the highway. We also drove along the Bow Valley Parkway for views of Castle Mountain and Johnston Canyon. We wandered around Banff, a town of 8,000 people plus tourists. It was quite busy. As it was close to dinner time we spotted the Mt Royal Hotel and the Tony Romas Restaurant wh... read more

Reggae and Dancehall music are one of my most favourite things about Jamaica. And being from a Jamaican heritage background, the music is the most loved influenced part in my life. To have some of the biggest artists from Jamaica, born and raised is an inspiring thing. From now and than generations such as Sean Kingston, Gyptian, Tami Chynn, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Damian Marley, Buju Banton, Lady Saw, Beenie Man, Burning Sear, and Bob Marley and the Wailers.... read more

I've been to many different destinations in my life but for my favourite one, I'd have to say Jamaica. My second time going I can remember every detail of my experience because it was only a few years ago. The first time I went I was 3 years old so I couldn't remember much, but I do have a lot of pictures. When I went a few years back I travelled with a friend, my grandparents, 2 cousin's and their parents to visit my step-uncle's side of the family. Where we stayed in Kingston- St. Andrews. We also got to see where my grandparents grew up and met, as well as their second home they own in St. Catherine Parish.... read more

I woke with a slight hangover, which I’m sure most of the others did as well, and we finally headed into BANFF for a fry up breakfast Melanie's Missteak restaurant on one of the back streets near the main street. After a brief wait, Joanna, Kristina, Sarah and I shared a table, with the girls having cereal, and Sarah and I having some big cooked breakfast to get our day started on the right foot. After breakfast, Todd took us through the town, across the bridge and up and around to the Banff Springs Hotel in the hills looking down on the town and the surrounding mountains and nature around. As I walked around the hotel it reminded me of the Celtic Manor in Newport near Cardiff and made me want to visit it again. It’s ... read more

During the wee hours of the night, I just about heard a call of “Bear!” but did nothing as I thought it was part of my dream. It was a faint call, and a bit later on I heard two people talking nearby, but again thought it was in my dreams so didn’t wake. Turned out this morning as we all gathered for breakfast, that it was Mark who called “Bear!” last night, but didn’t want to call it too loud in case it wasn’t a bear and didn’t want to wake people up for nothing! Sarah later chimed in saying that she heard the call, but waited 10 minutes or so to see if anything happened. It also turned out that Mark and Todd had a conversation in the van right next to me around ... read more
