We meant to get this one on the web yesterday but Jeff and Bettina were keeping us far too busy. The last couple of days have been brilliant and as we now find ourselves on the way to Vegas we can look back on some great times already. Jack has experienced so many new things and seeing his face when he watched cousin Jeff catching fish with his buddies was just great - the word “fish” is now in full use!

After visiting Savannah on Wednesday, we stayed closer to home over the last couple of days with trips to the nearby towns of Brooklet and Statesboro which has allowed us to learn a bit about the people that make Georgia their home - they are definitely some of the most friendly and laidback people we have ever met. I had a couple of great outings with Jeff when I went to breakfast at the Country Corner Cafe to meet the old boys for coffee and “grits” before doing the rounds to check up on his 2 crews that carry out the ground maintenance on a number of “communities” in the area. I must pick out Phil for special acclaim and thank him for inviting me into his home and being so generous with the bourbon which made for some great no-holds-barred man talk between us and “the General” who served during WW2 in so many places across Europe.

We have definitely begun to relax into the holiday now which is made so much easier by doing nothing much else other than rocking back and forth on the front porch and enjoying the great weather we seemed to bring with us - it was about 28 Celsius yesterday and definitely time to bring out the shorts.

After another early start this morning - up at 3:30 and out of the door by 4:15 - We have collected our motorhome and am looking forward to getting some sleep. news and of course photos of the beast to follow tomorrow.

Finally, thanks to Jeff, Bettina, Jeff and Clarissa for a wonderful 3 days in Georgia - we loved everything we did and everybody we met; we will definitly be droping by again sometime!
