Balloon Art
San Diego Children's Museum We started our second month on Thursday 4/1. The first month was really great. Some warm days and some rain, but NO SNOW.
Here are some of the sneaky things that the campers have done.
In the morning shift we work from 6 am to 1 pm. Our first task is to check for vehicles that came in the night before and didn't pay. About 1/3 of the sites have full hookups. Today we found 2 sites running long extension cords to the next site that had hookups but no occupant. We wrote them up and unplugged them. We went back about 1 hour later and they had plugged in again. I was told by the head Ranger that they can be ticketed for theft of government property. It seems that all fines are $68. If a person fails to pay a fine the Department of Motor Vehicles is notified and when they go to re-register their car, they must pay the fine and I am sure with a little extra.
If you have a motorhome you can bring in a tow vehicle free, as long as it is hitched when you arrive. Extra vehicles are charged $12

San Diego Children's Museum per day. One day two of the campers had switched the tow vehicle tags to other vehicles. One was a car that did not have any towing hardware and the other was a crew cab 4x4 and their motorhome was a small Class C. We do note the car registrations when they register.
We had 2 reasons for coming For me it was to be at the beach and more important to be with our 2 grand daughters, Hope and Ella, who live in LA about 120 miles away. We have been with them almost every weekend and will continue until we leave. It is a tough 2 hour+++ drive, but worth it.
Hope came for 5 days. Russ and Deb came for the weekend and left her and the came back the next weekend and picked her up. Ella is here with her mother from Wednesday to Saturday. We will then go back to LA for the Easter weekend. We took both of them to the Children's Museum in San Diego. The photos are balloon art hanging from the ceilings
We are going to pass on going to Tia Juana. Too dangerous.
The weather, the
last 3 days, has been around 60 and windy but the weekends have been around 70. I really enjoyed having Hope here because we would go swimming every day. I would go to about knee high and she would play in the waves until her lips turned blue. It is so great the have an outside RV shower where we could wash off with warm water. The water temp is about 58. I took Ella into the waves 2 days. It is much more fun to be in the water with little children.
We have been asked to come back next year and have been given February and March. We are still going to apply for State Beachs closer to LA. I didn't even get a response from the other districts last year.
With Jan's medical problems 2 months away from home are enough. Jan had another Trigger Finger episode. The ER and Urgent care would not give the Steroid shot and the HMO will not pay out of area. The x-ray and shot cost $305.
