Homeward Bound from Bakersfield

After leaving Mesa, AZ, we spent two days and three nights in Indio, CA.

We stayed at Shadow Hills RV Resort.

On Friday, we visited with Nan’s cousin Dorothy and her husband Tim who winter near Desert Hot Springs, CA.

Saturday morning, we drove The Beast to Joshua Tree, Ca and entered Joshua Tree National Park from the north gate and gaped at the forests of Joshua Trees which abound. Some photos are uploaded.

Saturday evening, we enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends Jon and Lisa who live nearby, and who remain dear friends to us after leaving Washington State for other pastures some time ago. We enjoyed a reunion and catching up with each other.

Sunday morning, we hitched up Uncle Joe to The Beast and drove to Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield, CA. We will be here two nights.

We stayed at Orange Grove for one night in early December 2009 on our snowbird trip to Eherneburg, CA; our first month long destination.

Now, we all smell the barn. But we have slowed down and will take more rest stops overnight during our return trip to the homestead.

The season is changing. We’ve run the air conditioner in Uncle Joe the last three days during the heat of the day. I even have a bit of a sun tan. It is time to tuck and turn for the shade of the Evergreen State, were night time temperatures still tease the freezing mark.
