The rare photo
all of us together Hey guys,
I found some time here at work to put a quick blog in for you. Things are going very well recently. Maria´s mother came out of the surgery very well, and has been making a rapid recovery. I am doing my best here to stay stress free with my heavy work load I have had, 40 hours a week, plus class preparation. I have not had any real chances to travel, but have been enjoying work and life here in Puebla.
Maria and I will be heading to the beach for semana santa which is next week. We are going to the western coastal state of Oaxaca. It should be a good break from the normal. I am also hoping to finaly move into a new apartment this next month if everything goes as planned.
I have been having fun watching a lot of soccer and a lot of NCAA basketball when I have time. Other than that I am trying to stay healthy by running and playing soccer.
This is a shorter blog, just to give a heads up. Look for another blog next week, with updates from Oaxaca and semana santa. Friends and family take care!
I miss you all, and hope to be home sooner rather than later. Enjoy, the exponential improvement in the weather I am sure you guys are experiencing. Until then, you are all welcome to visit! and as usual emails are always welcome.
Love Jake.
PS Happy birthday Grandma Pat!

Cascarones...
Jake, Laura Lee and I are going to get some cascarones, colored egg shells filled with confetti, for Sydney (I had to look these up on Wikipedia). I hope you get some for Maria (or vice versa). Enjoy holy week...I am singing Bach, St. John's passion. So, as a Johnnie, you ought to know it well! Sunny and 46 degrees today! Hallelujah....we will be singing that too! ;)
