G'day everyone!

We finally found a spot to add photos, so our other blogs have the photos many of you were looking for now! :-)

Well, as we said we would, we took a trip to Australia Zoo, home of Steve Irwin and his crocs! (And yes to the Hardman family, Barney is still there, and we took his picture for you guys at the croc show!!!) We had a FANTASTIC day there, pet Kangaroos, saw wallabies, wombats, koalas, tigers, elephants, otters, tonnes of crocs and gators, red pandas and much more!! The animals at the zoo there are all from either Australia or South-East Asia, to make sure they remain in their natural climate and environment (to answer Emma's question!) At the zoo, Steve Irwin's memory is everywhere, and you can tell that this wildlife warrior is truly loved and missed.

After the zoo, we went back to Brisbane and did more searching around that beautiful city (mostly to avoid our horrible hostel!) ... but we REALLY did love Brisbane otherwise. Its a wonderful city, full of life and tonnes to do!

After about 4 days however, we decided it was time to keep going, and we headed down south to a place called Surfer's Paradise (actually the name of the city!) There we found amazing beaches and amazing surf ... but only if you're a professional (we're pretty sure those waves would have demolished us!). Surfers paradise was a great place, we met up with a guy named Dario and had some really good times out at the bar and at the hostel.

We're currently in a small Hippy town called Byron Bay, which is beautiful. We spent the first day watching the Canada-Slovakia game, and then the next day going to the beach. This morning however, we watched the Canada-USA game on the edge of our seats! It was an amazing game, and the only time we have wished we were home this whole trip! (Now you are all the luckey ones!) Celebrate well for us! We did you all proud and woke up early and even had some beers (showed at 9am Monday morning here). Wave those flags high for us please! :-)

Tonight we're getting on the overnight bus to Sydney, and then after that its off to Egypt!

Love you all ... and GO CANADA GO!
