I made the driver pull over so I could get another shot. Apparently a horse carriage is used in a ceremony, sometimes a wedding.

Maria said that she heard the insides of these buildings are really nice but for tax reasons they let the outside look rough. Could be I guess but I'm skeptical.

Mall entrance with their version of independence day. We fly out on their 4th of July so hopefully the terrorists don't decide to show up.

What a beautiful horse! Gosh, in all that traffic! You're right! He'd have to have alot of nerve! Traffic looks to be a nightmare! So glad that we don't have it here, although sometimes 470/435 can look that way in the AM!

Love the pictures and..
I am so glad you are doing captions--wobbling heads, skinny thugs, and the chaotic streets with thin horses, motorized rickshaws, and fancy cars all make it very interesting, for sure! The picture contrasts are incredible. Do the local folks know/care about the Haiti earthquake? I will miss this blog thing but I certainly hope you have a safe and uneventful trip home!
