Dia 6 - New Orleans to ???

Yestarday night we drove through a big storm. Lots of rain and wind. Today once again we woke up late and we went for a walk in the French Quarter of New Orleans. We met cousin Billy at the Superdome's truck parking lot and we talked about our route through Texas. We saw lots of damaged buildings, abandoned houses and ugly areas. But also, we saw a lot of fun stuff. The streets of the french quarter are full of music and art. Very neat houses and architecture. We wished we could have stayed longer. +/- 30 miles out of New Orleans at a very busy area of I-10 the left back tire blew out. Oh goodness!!!! Call the police. Call the AAA. The police came to help Terry. All done! Call AAA and cancel the request. Now we are at tire kingdom waiting... where are we going now??? I don't know. But it's late and we need to get going...

Ontem a noite dirigimos dentro de uma grande tempestade. Muita chuva e vento. Hoje, novamente, acordamos tarde e fomos andar no French Quaters de Nova Orleans. Nos encontramos com o primo do Terry, Billy, no estacionamento de caminhoes do Superdome (estadio de futebol americano e aonde os desabrigados ficaram quando o furacao Katrina passou por New Orleans), conversamos sobre a nossa rota pelo Estado do Texas. Nos vimos muitas ruinas, casas abandonadas e areas muito feias. Mas tambem, vimos muitas coisas interessantes. As ruas do French Quarter de New Orleans sao cheias de musica e arte. Casas muito bonitinhas e uma arquitetura especial... Nos gostariamos de ter ficado mais tempo por la. +/- 30 milhas de New Orleans, numa parte de trafico intenso e rapido da I-10 o pneu traseiro esquerdo do carro estorou. Liga pra policia. Liga pro AAA. A policia chegou pra ajudar o Terry. Liga pro AAA pra cancelar o pedido de ajuda. Agora estamos nua loja de pneus chamada Tire Kingdom esperando... Aonde vamos agora??? Nao sei! Mas esta ficando tarde e precisamos continuar dirigindo.

nice job allowing us to be jealous and see what you guys are doing looks like fun good weather and happy people!!! stay safe check the oil buckle your seat belts check the tire pressure say a prayer slow down watch out both mirrors no yelling or screaming go to the bathroom when we stop brush your teeth after you eat so we all dont breathe on each other and for goodness sakes behave yourself!!!!! foolishness while driving stretch out a couple times a day so you dont hurt your back.
