THE ROCK

After breakfast we walked to pier 33 ready fro the ferry to 'THE ROCK'(Alcatraz, Devil's Island). Sun was shinning again, not so much to miss about Pontnewydd when the weather is so fine!! The ferry journey was great and the views were even better, we had a good look of The Golden Gate, and approach to Alcatraz was chilling. Once docked we had a briefing, then set off. First port was a projection show, then the tour of the Prison, with a personal headset the tour was really detailed and a laugh, saw where all the bad guys (Al Capone, Robert "Birdman" Stroud) did all sorts of bad stuff; trying to get into character!!
After the tour we saw a guy called Darwin Coon, he was an inmate on Alcatraz, old now but still looked a bit shady!! Wouldn't sign my ticket either, Grump!!
After ferrying it back to the mainland we got a tram back to our place, and had some gnosh!!
