So my day started at 5 in the morning to get ready, and of course stressing out about forgetting stuff, which will happen anyways. My friend, Jeske, was the big sweetheart who was willing to drop me off at the train station at this early hour. Then it began, awake in the train, and of course forgot the fact that before 9 o´clock my discount card doesn't work, but my tired smile convinced them not giving me a fine. Then the whole flying and changing flights began. Had a stop in London, slept on the way there, then had a stop in Newark where it took hours and hours to get through customs. While standing in line I found it funny and almost surreal that there were huge pamphlets hanging and standing, which were saying that they were the face of the airport and are there to help you, that they are respectful etc. I haven't met anyone in the airport who met any of these characteristics. I had to pick up my bag and drop them behind a screen again, not checked or anything in between so what´s the use.

On the way to San Jose I saw some movies and found myself sitting next to a German guy who only spoke 3 words of English. He stole my leg space, so was forced to poke my behind in his side. From the airport I took a bus instead of a taxi, which is way way cheaper. In the hostel I went to sleep early, and woke up early. I had to go to the office of my volunteer project, this was a a road full of obstacles; I got directions to go by bus but when I asked people everyone told me something else, what was a bit shocking; the bus driver had no clue where his stops were, I was told by a lady on the bus. Weird weird weird. I did get there in the end and paid my first 2 weeks of the project and then went back to the centre. I am enjoying the 25 degrees even though it is raining a bit. As I've been before in San Jose I remember where to go, where to eat, the hostel etc. But the thing I didn't remember was the huge smell, from old buses and cars. Yuk.
