mi ultimo!!! Hi everyone, hope everyone is doing fine!! As I told you before I had one more stop in Panamá which was in the Lost and Found hostel, cool name for a beautiful place, but due to the rain and a unpatient Dutchie, I didn´t stay there long. I did see a kingajoo(honeybear) and cacomistles (raccoon-ish animal with monkey behaviour) Went to a great local guy who´s all into organic in his own way! Cool to listen to him and his weird stories and experiments. Also did he make different kinds of wine of different fruits. As a wine lover I was really content...before the tasting. It was ab-so-lu-te-ly disgusting!! The border crossing was easy, for me, a lot of people got scammed and had to buy tickets to go back to the country they ... read more

Hola One of the to do things on my list and of many others is going to San Blas islands in the Caribbean. There are almost 400 islands and not even half have people on it. Besides this some islands just exist from literally one house or 3 palm trees. Sounds great doesn't it...let me tell you: it is!! San Blas is an area where Kuna people live, they have their own language, lack of social skills and they seem to have also their own development 'disorder' They're really small and their upper body is longer than their legs. Besides this they have a little too much interaction between one and an other: you see a lot of split pallets and albino's . I stayed on a little island where maybe 30 people live and there ... read more

Dearest I gave you a bit of an hint in my last blog about leaving the project which you think would be really easy, but it wasn't. We wanted to leave Saturday morning, the 4 o'clock bus·(painful). But the night before we understood, that besides a truck blocking the road, a bridge collapsed and we were in Code Yellow because of a hurricane close to Nicaragua and they didn't know yet the course of the hurricane. All this besides the knowledge that if they is rain the bus can't leave because rivers go over the road. There was no plane and the day after it was Sunday so we didn't have a bus.. In the end the solution was: make a reservation for the 7 o'clock boat, herefore we have to walk/ run over a 2 ... read more

I told already a bit in an email about the project..so some information is going to be double, just get over it! The most people working in the project are from Spain, this means a lot of swearing is passing by;) They are great though. There was also when I arrived a German boy, who´s there already 2 months. He´s the one who has all the bad luck, but seriously all the bad luck: He paid too much through an organisation who arranged a project for him. 2 Hours before he left the changed the destination though, which meant he doesn´t has the stuff with him which he needs, parents were not informed and contacted the police. Besides that he gets eaten alive by everything that stings or bites so his legs look like, well ehhrr ... read more

So my day started at 5 in the morning to get ready, and of course stressing out about forgetting stuff..which I will anyways!! My friend, Jeske, was the big sweetheart who was willing to drop me off at the trainstation at this early hour. Then it began, awake in the train, and of course forgot the fact that before 9 o´clock my discount card doenst work..but my tired smile convinced them not giving me a fine. Then the whole flying and changing flights began. Had a stop in London, slept on the way there, then had a stop in Newark which took hours and hours the get cleared through customs. While standing in line I found it funny and almost surreal that there were huge pamflets hanging and standing, which were saying that they were the ... read more

Yes the end is getting more near...count down has started!! My second last country is the second smallest in my trip, Ecuador! I didn't take the most crossed border in the North west of Peru(tumbes) this because of the knowledge that there are a lot of nice people who want to rob or scam you...few stories I heard, and which are prove that they are actually nice: * If they rob your belongings they will give you back you memory card of your camera * They will ask you if you want to fight them or just pay them So I crossed over somewhere else, no probs just a really nice sight waiting for the bus to leave into Ecuador: on my left hand side I heard some nice little piglets roaming around, till I saw ... read more

Jane is heading to the jungle!!! That means first a long busride, towards Tarapoto with my new travelpartner Dan, who will soon show, he wasn't the best pick..., but I must say a bit of my own fault, was being a bit egoistic(really didnt want to go alone) Bit of bussing we arrived in this important town in the high jungle, after a good half night of sleep in a bed instead of a busseat, we left towards Yurimaguas. luckily our driver wasn't drunk: you couldn't say that about the other driving with whom we were more or less driving 'together', as far as you can call it that way in 2 different vehicles. It was an interesting ride, on a road where they are working on a lot because of slides and so on. Besides ... read more

I left my nice little hostal in Barranco, Lima after a week, was about time. I seriously had a great time there thanks for the owner, peeps working and passing by there and the big winner in this story: Bingo, the brown Labrador. I was heading to Huaraz where I was going to be picked up by Luis, and I could stay over at his house, arranged by Alex, half-half working at Kaminu -how you can work half-half, I dont know but it's possible with no doubt- . The bus ride was let's say awkward, this because the floor of the bus was directly under my seat, I still dont know if it was actually a disaster or more comfi..I could stretch out my legs, but that was at the same time the only possible position, ... read more

After a lovely trip w/ a cheap ass bus (not only the price made it clear; nice scent around people, flat tire, people spitting in te aisle..) I arrived in Arequipa. This city also known as the white city, for the (not totally) white buildings because of the use of sillar(vulcanic stone) and the vulcanos prettily snowcapped around this desert city. I woke up the first morning through a light earthquake..this was strange experience...and for me the first one, as I slept through the only one in Holland;) Eventually I booked a tour, because of the rain (my biggest friend nowadays) the roads are bad, so buses are not frequent and not safe, besides all this almost the same price as a 2 day tour.. So there I was in a bus, out the bus taking ... read more

Nervously excited for everyting in and around Cusco w/ its historical centre and Machu Picchu. The first few days I wandered around the beautiful centre of Cusco, seen a lot of original dressed up people, met up with Sebastián, lots of history spread all over, ate in a mercado etc. The last one I always enjoy, this because of the variety of things going on there; you can by clothes, fruits, have lucnh, buy whole pigs;) etc. I ate there twice, and if you do that you shouldn´t think too much; the food is lying there without any cooling or lid, with flies all around it for several hours at least, besides that the lady in question will put the food on your plate with her hands;) So you shouldn´t look at her hands and nails, ... read more
