The Start Line
Lots of excitement at the start. Oct 15 Day 6
Today we were able to get a ride on a spectator boat to watch the racing up close. The racers had a good wind and that made for a rough ride in the power boat we were in. I can hardly wait to get back on a sail boat. There was lots of excitement on the starting line; as you can see from the photos. When you have 30 boats starting it can get a little nuts. After the 3 races were done, our favorite boat, Peter Pan, was in 6th place overall. A nice day of racing. After the race we were invited to a dinner party hosted by one of the Club members on their patio. There were over 100 people at the party. Some more great generous Southern Hospitality.
Oct 16 Day 7
It is hard to believe that we have been gone a week and have had such a good time and we haven’t even started our boat trip. Today the weather changed from hot (86F) and humid with 10-15 MPH winds to a cool 65F and very windy. The racing was cancelled because of the 30+ mph winds. That

The downwind leg of the race. gave everyone a chance to pull their boats out of the water and prepare them for the trip home. A dinner and awards presentation was the last event of the day. Great food, great music and a fun time was had by all.
Oct 17 Day 8
Got on the road by 9:00am. A smooth trip back to Kentucky Lake. Amber Lee II was waiting for us. Will get started on the real adventure tomorrow. Will update the blog when we find another internet connection.

rd to next years event in Marblehead and then in Chicago in August 2010. We had an uneventful trip back to Chicago arriving at midnight in chilly Montrose harbor. Wishing you both a safe voyage and more fun adventures, Peter and Mary
