So..after a week or so in Melbourne catching up with the family I flew to Alice Springs, its a strange little town but I finally found the sun! Had a day there before going on a 3day tour to Uluru, Kings canyon and Kata Tjuta. Had a wander round town and went to The flying doctors service which was interesting about there obviously not being much medical care out there/everywhere is so so so far away from anywhere else! Also learnt a bit about the first hospital there and a couple of other history bits.

Then we headed off on tour-it was amazing. We slept outside under the stars, all helped with the cooking on fires, etc and did plenty of walking and learning anout the envirnoment around us and the aboriginal people too. Met lots of really cool people from all over and we all got on really well. So well that on returning to Alice we had a big night out together and the next day a few of us ended up at our tour guides house just to chill out in his pool. Then I got The Ghan up to Darwin and happened to be sat next to some of my friends from the tour which was great. We went our separate ways in Darwin as they had camping booked and I had another tour but I have met up with them since getting back from tour again.

This time I went on tour to Litchfield and Kakadu national parks. They were beautiful, much more green as oppose to just red dust everywhere. Although having said that there was a lot more vegetation than I expected in the centre. This tour was mainly little walks to different water falls and sometimes you could swim in the plunge pools. It was so beautiful. We also went on a couple of boat trips and saw wild crocs, brumbies, a goanna, dingos, poisonous toads, agile wallabies and lots of different birds and probably more that I have already forgotten.

We all went out again after tour last night but now most people have headed off straight away. Today I have just wandered around Darwin and relaxed, think I might go for a swim in the pool now and then maybe go to the deckchair cinema after dinner. Got a day of sight seeing planned tomorrow including hand feeding fish at high tide, should be interesting. Then I am off to Cairns early Monday morning! :-)
