The Italian Adventure began in Rome at the Plus Camping site (which was awesome). There we swam in the pool, sipped cocktails and had our own private chalet-bungalow. With not much time up our sleeve we missed all the Roman highlights hehe!!! It was off to Sorrento at 7am! We set off with Ben (Busabout guide) and a local Italian bus driver Giovanni... At the service stop we had to pay to pee (while in europe we have spent more on peeing than drinking). First stop Pompei.... Wow it was amazing. With a guided tour through the ancient lost (now found) city we learnt heaps. From the Volcano eruption peoples bodies had been preserved in ash then plaster casted to the surface. There were brothels and many penis' on the streets and walls around the city hehe... Seems they lived very similarily to us... It was then down to try the world famous Napoli Pizza, margerita style woodfired for 90 seconds... yumo. Off to Sorrento we settled into our camp site (bungalows) and took a dip in the really warm pool 0-) Ben showed us his awesome european bathers, lucky us, and Andy has been searching for a pair ever since... Out that nights it was an array of cocktails and dances... the most famous being the Katie Perry Dance... The night ended at midnight for Cindarella as a chick spilt her drink on Jens white dress... Not happy Jan (Jen)... The next day it was off to Capri which has won the best holiday destination a few years in a row... We however sweated our butts off and were tempted to jump off one of the many cliffs so we could go for a swim... The boatride around the Island was lovely and a covertible taxi to the top was amazing but scary as we zig zaged up the steep cliffs. After some yummy gelati and a sleep on a rocky beach it was back to Sorrento for a group dinner at the camp site. Jen had the best gnocchi but only just as good as the gnocchi form Eating on the Edge!! The following day was amazing!!!!!!! We drove south on the Amalfi coastline which was so beautiful. With fresh fruit for breakie, and brought herbs to take home Jen was in heaven. The views were spectacular, the roads were fucking scary hehe.... A boat ride around Amalfi was beautiful. Andy and Jen sat right up the front and dipped our feet into the splashing warm water below. Back on the bus it was off to Rome... 2 emergency pee stops and we made it to Rome for another night at Plus. It was an early night as a flight to Athens awaited us early the next morning..........
