Arriving in La Spezia by train we walked around for awhile until deciding on a nice hotel to say at... My One Hotel... We were restless from a long train ride so headed straight out to explore... What we found was gorgeous... La Spezia is a quaint old town and we honestly didn't hear or see any english speaking people... I guess coz its the end of the season! We stopped by a lovely little wine bar to sample more Italian wine and Prosecco (fizzy bubbles) for Jen Jen!! With our drinks they brought us the hugest platter of tasties ever!! [View Full Entry]

beautiful venice Europe » Italy » Veneto » Venice
Ahhh beautiful venice....The city of romance, rivulets, cananls and gondalas. When we arrived it was drizzling but the sky was clear and as expected the place was beautiful...We caught the boat from the bus station on the grand canal to the foot of our hotal.....The Hotel Rialto.... Yes folks thats right we lashed out for this once as we found out our termination payments had come through (thanks to a phone call from mama at 330am!) ....whoo hooo. Our Hotel was literally at the base of the rialto bridge. We quickly took the chance to get rid of our gear and [View Full Entry]

We arrived in the home of red bull... one straight shot of redbull straight up for andy and a cream puff for jen... We settled into wombats hostel and then it was off to dinner... Being Austria we had schnitzels for din dins! Jen Jen had chicken and Andy had Turkey... The restaurant was full up and there was only one waitress on the floor... she was super amazing and there were no waits only a couple of forgotten, or slow, drinks... For 6 Euros each we had a salad, a schnitzel, fries and a shot of frangelico! What a bargain! [View Full Entry]

Up bright and early once more it was off to find the bus stop to head south to the beautiful Cesky Krumlov. We managed to score a seat on the student bus and our tickets cost us only 4 euro...what a score. When we arrived to our amazement it was snowing. It only took us a quick 20 mins to walk to where we were staying, the Pension Adalbert....which was only 100 metres from old town square and was so amazing and the staff super friendly. After unloading our gear and grabbing our gloves and beanies we took to the many [View Full Entry]

It was off to Prague bright and early on the bus with Dax. We stopped off on the way at Terrizen Concentration camp for a tour and a look at what really went down in these Nazi run playgrounds. Its hard to believe that humans could actually treat other human beings this way...The cells were tiny and dark and the conditions were undescribable. We even got to see the execution grounds were their was a deadly feeling in the air...All together it was a really confronting experience and tis so hard to believe all this went down only 50 odd years [View Full Entry]

Arriving in Berlin late we were met with caos!! At City Stay Mitte they had only booked one of us in... they were fully booked... mmmm not a happy Jen... We had booked a double as we had been staying in a dorm in Amsterdam and needed some TLC!! hehe... They couldnt find our booking and the language barrier was soooooo bad we left!!! Making our way to Generator, a famous hostel with plenty of beds we had no problem aquiting a twin. It was really lovely and they gave us free breakfast...yay! The following morning we found a hotel closer [View Full Entry]

Well we arrived at 8 in the morning and it was straight onto a train to try and find out hostel The Flying Pig Down town.... Sounds easy enough but we somehow managed to get lost in little cobbled alleyways.... We finally found our way and after checking in and getting our gear sorted out we headed down to the bar….The first thing we noticed was this awfully sweet aroma that seemed to be everywhere. We decided to just ease ourselves into it so we ordered a nice alcoholic cold beverage before running into some Tassie friends Matt and Jess. They [View Full Entry]

1. Destination Oktoberfest…..The big one that everyone has been waiting for. Arriving in Munich via a bus from Stuggart and a plane from London we were pretty beat and it was getting late. We headed for a quick orientation of the city with our mate Tim at the helm. We travelled the known city streets as well as some low keys ones aswell before ducking into a Japanese restaurant for tea. It was an early night tonight as tomorrow held a massive drinking session that was to last over the 11 hour session on the steins. We were up and at [View Full Entry]

Jens birthday on Ios Europe » Greece » South Aegean » Ios
Well this was by far the funnest island of our trip... Arriving in Ios it was straight into the pool for Andy Pandy and as for me I hit up a deck chair for some more well deserved sunbaking... Strawberry daquiries all round and a yummy chicken risotto got us through til dinner time... It was the night before my birthday and I was so excited... so was everybody else. Andy worried that I was missing my muma too much on my birthday organised a girl patrol to save the day. Laura (hairdresser from Perth) was amazing and chopped all my [View Full Entry]

Magical Santorini Europe » Greece » South Aegean » Santorini
Well this Island was just magical... The postcards don't do it justice at all. Dinner was served on the side of a cliff top overlooking the Caldera on the first night. It was breathtakingly beautiful, unexplainable... The food was superb and the 1 liter Rose we drunk in an hour was also fantastic...hehe. It was off to the highlander where we danced the night away, splurging on cocktails (2 for 7euro) and shooting bazzilions of shots... It was then up on the bar for some go go dancing led by the infamous timmy tim tam... With heaps of old tunes belted [View Full Entry]
