If we can start by retracting our statement "first impressions.... DUMP!" under section 14, paragraph 9 sub heading 2:1 of the United inter-Relations About Chilean Observational Congress Kaisers. Which is a mouthful to say so they choose U.R.A.C.O.C.K for short! That after being here a couple of days now and doing the usual tourist thing, and did a bus trip around the city, we can now retract our statement earlier this week and in fact give Santiago a big Wic & Lisab thumbs up!
We've visited loads of places today and met some lovely people, one of which hated Gordon Brown and Bush so you instictively know he's relatively sound! We met a great few tour guides who told us the places to go to tommorrow to celebrate their indendence day... Only 199 years old! How lucky are they that they get us to celebrate their day with! One guide in particular called Maria who was really helpful with telling us about places to go and not to go, she did seem to use the word 'typical' alot! Bless her she was funny!
Took loads of photos again of National buildings and noble people who shaped the country into what it is today. One in particular is where Im stood waiting for a photo in front of a huge building called Palacio de la real audiencia y museo historico nacional, which is basically the national history museum, for those who don't know their Spainsh. Anyways their I am grinning like a good un with lisa trying her best to get me and this humongous building behind me in the picture, when she shouts 'this building is soo big your gonna look like a midget in the photo!' then walked by a vertically challenged adult no more than 4ft tall, giving Lisa the eye balling of a lifetime!!!! Needless to say we got out there as soon as possible!!
The time difference here to the uk is 5 hrs behind, so by the time your thinking of going to bed were thinking about going out for tea! In comparision to BA there is no streets used as sewers for dogs to poo in, plazas or parks are sociable places and usually have either teenagers making out, or middle aged men having affairs with their bits on the side!
There are loads of fast food places here, all the usual place like mc donalds.... Which may explain why many, not all but certainly more than most, have very round backsides! Not that our days are being spent looking at peoples derears but it has been noticable all the same!
