Lori and Dad tour Paris

We have almost perfected the getting ready in the morning. Lori says she stills needs more time but she is starting to catch the go go bug. Ask Kirsten she’ll explain. We both headed out of the hotel around 8:30 am; yea you read it correctly 8:30 am. We found a café’ sat down and had coffee and a croissant, light and quick. We then headed over to the Louvre where we caught the Green tour bus and began our tour of Paris.
We visited:
Notre Dame, Our first stop, we hopped off and walked through the cathedral. Lori was starting to get used to the massive size and detail.
Hotel for Invalids, where all the wounded soldiers stay.
Eiffel Tower, OMG, You should have seen Lori face as we walked up to the tower. We didn’t go up to the top. Sam I saved that for you and yes she wants to come back. We ate lunch here in the park looking up at the tower.
Palace De Chaillot, another beautiful building that is now a museum.
Arch Triumph, we rode around and looked at it.
Grand Palace, we rode around and looked at it.
Obelisk from Luxor, Lori read that it was a gift from Egypt. Hmmm, sounds like France wrote that in the history books, let’s ask Egypt if they agree.
Opera, thinking of Bea as we rode around.
Tower St Jacques, rode by and pointed.
Sacure Coeur, Ok this cathedral is special because momma’s brother, who went by the name “Brother” came to Paris and studied art. Well when momma was born Brother told my grandfather to name her Marguerite, after St. Marguerite, who has a statue of her in Sacure Coeur. Lori and I probably stood where Brother stood while he was there.
Moulin Rouge, I wanted to get off the bus but Lori said no way.
We wrapped up our day by taking the Metro back to the Eiffel Tower. We had diner and drank wine while watching the Eiffel tower being lighted.
We took the Metro back to our Hotel; we sat and talked for hours about us. It was one of the closest times Lori and I have had.
