It's almost time to go!! I still don't quite understand how this is all going to work, but, if nothing else, I'll have a journal of our trip. Hopefully, I will be communicating with friends as we go!

Our original plan was to leave about 7 am. However, I made a few adjustments to our schedule, since I NEVER sleep the night before vacation, and Marlowe is counting on me to drive at some point. I also thought we might be able to get a few hours behind us with kids still sleeping, thus avoiding the "Are we there yet? syndrome" for a few hours! So, Marlowe got the luggage "clamshell" on top of the truck packed. Then he went to bed around 10:30. I have been up since then, getting the inside of the car packed - snacks, drinks, games, books, and the crazy psycho teacher stuff I made for my kids! (cause you know they will choose an All About Kentucky Crossword puzzle over the DS, right??) I also had to get random stuff packed. I had to finish cutting out the Hinson Family Uno cards I made (Thanks Noelle!), and I had to figure out this blog thing. In about an hour, I will fix a pot of coffee, wake Marlowe, drag the kids to the car, and then the kids and I will sleep for a little bit while he drives. I hope this will be the good jumpstart we need to get going!

I am so excited to see the rest of this country, as well as so many family members that I have begun to meet already thanks to facebook!

Shelly (my sister-in-law) said that she hears the National Lampoon theme song in her head when she thinks about this trip. I know why! Hopefully, it will be great fun, and HOPEFULLY, I won't end up tied to the bumper or strapped to the top of the car! Anyway, I decided that should be my ringback tone (Holiday Road), but I can't find it on my phone searches, so if anybody has any ideas, let me know. I think that would be a kick!

Well, here we go! Say a little prayer for us!

If you choose to subscribe, send me a message, so I'll know who's here!

Your "are we there yet" comment made me laugh. I'm usually the one saying it. I'm a terrible traveler! I hope you guys have a safe and quick trip. We are looking forward to meeting you guys!! :) My mom informed us that she may be making taco's and having the family over on Thursday night. Enjoy your trip and don't allow yourself to go near the roof of you car, your kids might just be bored enough to tie ya down! Praying for safe travels! Trina

On the long road
Just think if he straps you to the bumper or the roof who will deal with the kids! You all are in our prayers! We will miss you! Maryelyse was excited when I told her you were in Tenn. Enjoy yourselves and this family bonding time! By the way when you get home and are tired of family bonding time I will be glad to take your kids! I even bought this cool face chap stick today to avoid face burns! Love you and praying for you!

Hope that you trip got off to a GREAT START!!! Please keep us informed on where you are and what you are doing. Thanks for a Great Father's Day! You, Amie, Jay, Martha Ann and the Kids really made it a special day for me. Thanks again. The BirdFeeder is great and we will thoroughly enjoy it. MA and I have enjoyed watching the birds for several years now and hopefully will continue to do so for many more. Have a GREat Time and really enjoy your trip. Encourage the kids to look outside rather than the cards and computer. Love you . Big Daddy and Martha Ann
