As I had mentioned in an earlier blog, this past week was Corpus Christi; a large religious celebration in Granada. Because of the festivities, school was canceled from Wednesday-Friday. A perfect opportunity to do some day trips!
Friday, a couple girls and I took a bus south again to another beach on the Mediterranean Sea-a little city called Nerja! This was actually the one recommended day trip in my "Let's go Spain" travel book.
It was a bit farther this time, taking us about 2 hours south. We took the earliest bus possible which put us on the beach by 9:00 am. The bus ride there, we took the same path as last weekend; thus I got a second helping of the BEAUTIFUL views!
The weather was forecasted to be 95 degree day, and at 9:00 am, we were feeling the heat! This made it a lot easier to actually do some swimming in the sea, and as an alternative; it was a SANDY beach. 😊
The day flew by between swimming, tanning, cliff jumping, reading, ice cream, etc. Just wondering if my Mom will pick up that? 😊
Yes, I did get a little satisfaction to my adventurous urge. There

The Group of Nerja goers!
was another group of students from Centro de Lenguas there (actually one of them goes to UWL!) who were climbing and jumping... well everyone knows that I have a need for some adventure every now and then and I just HAD to try it. The jump was such a rush, and that is a complete understatement! The cliff was about 35-40 feet up from the water! Not to worry Mom, I am still here, able to write about just how EXCITING it was!
Again, after being on the beach for the majority of the day, we wanted to see what this city had to offer. We caught a bus to the "Cuevas de Nerja," meaning the caves of Nerja. These caves were AMAZING!!!!! I have never seen anything like this! There were 3 different levels to these caves, only one being open to the public. In my brochure, I learned that the total level spread is 67.95 meters. I always convert this in my head using pools...thinking that is a bit of a distance to swim! 😊
They were obviously very dark, dingy and cold. Kinda gave a spooky feeling-but SO unique as well!
Another city, another experience, another 2

We even got to see a STINGRAY when we were down by the water!!

Unfinished Lecture
OK, I'm not done with you yet! So..if someone else jumps off a cliff, should you jump off a cliff? The answer should be NO!!! Please stick to supervised adventures. And "yes" I focused right in on the cliff jumping. Thought you could just squeak it by... Steph and Andy, if you are reading this, Happy Anniversary. Love you all, MOM
