Macayla and I in front of the main entrance of the hostal.
After a rough night sleep due to very uncomfortable beds, we were awakened by the pidder padder of hammers and loud banging. Of course, the hostal is under construction. I have the luck.
We traveled into Ica by taxi and went to the museum. We were looking forward to the museum because of the mummies and trophy heads that they claimed to have. The museum sure did not disappoint.
Next, we went into town for a bite to eat and noticed in the Plaza de Armas was some sort of band playing. Macayla and I went in to investigate and found that they were having a celebration. Table after table was set up but nothing on them. There was a man who spoke broken English that tried to explain that they were making the world´s largest something looking like a type of candy brittle. I could be wrong about the type of candy it was but definitely something sweet. It was interesting to watch but had to leave before it was over so that we could make it for our sandboarding trip.
The sandboarding trip was super fantastic. Once we were strapped into the go cart type vehicle, Macayla started getting

very scared and wanted to get off but I talked her into sticking with it and she was happy that she did. We drove all around sand dunes which was quite fun but then we stopped and prepared to slide down hills. It was wonderful. They use regular snow boards but you lay down on them on your stomach and slide down. It was fantastic!!!! One of the best things I have ever done. Then after we finished, we did more riding in the dune buggy and watched the sunset. It has been the best money I have ever spent so far on this trip. Tomorrow we are off to Paracas and the islands.
It was quite hot today, very different compared to Lima. Pretty chilly at night though.
