Monday, May 18, 2009

6:00am: I woke up, get ready, ate breakfast, and write out my note cards to study on the train.

7:45am: I leave to go to school.

9:00am: I made it to my classroom. I’m pissed that I still feel “unliked.”

9:15am: Class begins with a kanji quiz. Then, we learn how to say, “I went to Shibuya to eat dinner with a friend.” We also learn how to say “until” and “by.”

10:45am: Class ended and Eileen comes by! I showed her pictures of the 2 Japanese friends I made on Friday. We had fun talking. 😊

11:00am: Eileen goes to her class. My class starts off with new kanji and then we learned how to describe our things to the lost and found office.

12:30pm: I left to meet Christie Thanasack. I miss her, so I told her that I will eat lunch with her today. We talked about ourselves during lunch.

1:30pm: I hung out with Christie, Kyle, Amy Lian, and Dan. We just socialized.

3:00pm: Everyone goes to class. I leave to head home.

3:15pm: I get a text message from Mayo that he wants to hang out tonight in Shibuya. I felt like hanging out, I wanted to learn Japanese, and I knew he wanted to speak English, so I decided to go.

3:45pm: I was in Shibuya and I ordered a Starbucks Caramel frappucino. I did my homework. The meeting time was 6pm.

4:00pm: I get text messages from Eileen, John Lee, and Yoshihiro asking me what I was doing. Haha! If Mayo hadn’t texted me earlier, I would’ve been home by now…getting these text messages! Eileen and John had to stay on campus. Yoshihiro decides he can’t come to Shibuya. I felt cared for at least. I promised myself to hang out with all of them at another time.

5:15pm: I left Starbucks and walked around Shibuya. I buy a hat for $15. The weather was very sunny and hot, so I wanted a hat.

5:40pm: I was going to buy a shirt…when Mayo calls to tell me that he’s in Shibuya. I leave the store without buying a shirt.

5:45pm: Mayo and I go to a café. Mayo wanted to practice his English, so I decided to speak only English. I talked about my childhood and he briefly talks about his. Then, we go to a restaurant. And we talk some more English. I told him that I have a hard time understanding waiters, so he writes me notes on what waiters say in my notebook. He taught me useful Japanese grammar and I cleaned up his English. We also showed gestures. I learned how to say “gay” in Japanese with my hands! He wants to meet more English speakers because he says he really wants to learn, so I plan on introducing him to more of my American friends. I warned him that although I’m fluent in English, my friends speak faster.

10:00pm: I was finally home. I responded to my friends’ messages from America and I wrote out travel blogs.

Note: Times are approximate.
