May 5th- Athens Baby!!
Today I was very excited to see the ruins in Greeec! I woke up a bit sley, but appaerntly not as sleepy as my roomates who were quick to confront my about my snoring! lol! I thought about Canada a bit, but my friends were quick to interrupt that thought with breakfast which was bread, cheese and condiments and tea, and chit-chat about planning the day and laughs rfom the ngiht before.

Our journey in Athens started with the city's prize Posession- Acropolis. Acropilis is a uhge rock, about 10 mins walk from our hostel, the Athens backpackers. Today is sunny with gentle cool winds, perfect, i maen PERFECT for a day outdoors. We ventured through Plaka to the entrance of the Acropolis (Annie took role of head scout and got us there without a wrong turn!)/ The rock is spectacular with remnants of churches, alls, and countains along the climb up. Upon reaching the top, you get a view of the entire Athens. Small box houses with NARROW streets..
/.... internet is poor, don't want to re-type.. must move onto more exciting stories... timed internet usage, budget vacation.

May 6, SANTORINI!! I like to call this entry THE AMAZING RACE!

(I wrote some of this RIGHT after it occured in my notebook, so it sounds rough.. but I have no time to make t coherent right now!.. plus it's completely candid 😉

We missed our Blue Star Ferry to Santorini this mronig. Left hostel at 6:20am, took subway; subway not working properly, is delayed. Arrived at BS ferry port, Pireus at 7:21 am, fery leave at :25 am. Ran to port E7 (noetd on ticket) BUT ferry was E6!!!!! I ran with my 9kg backpack on and carry-on hanging off th front through pdestrian rtafic, from the Metro stop to the ports. I was right behind Leslie, then Annie & Ruby, then Karen followed. I ran past Les, sicne she couldnt see the port signs, and sped down to the end of port E7, and there were at least 4 ferries in sight, not sai Blue Star! Slwoing down, and not able to keel over b/c of my backpack, I hap-hazardly jogged to a patio bar that was all empty except for the matre-dee. She was an old lady, long grey hair tossed back in a pony tail and pale island-ilke breezy skirt and blouse. Our convo was just this:
"Excuse me" breath in
'do you know where blue star ferry is?' deeper breath in, can't keel over, big long backpack.
"blue star? not here.. there ti is there" as she points towards the sailing ship.
I must have looked defeated, because she then said
"but there is another blue star". It was in port E6, with its passengers onb aord, but still docked! So I ran back up E7, accross the tarmack road to E6 to the back of the ship, where vehicles docked and staff saw the crazy running asian girl a mile away.
"where is this ferry gonig?" i shouted, not meaning to, but m heavy breath left me no choice.
The curious ferry staff looked at me, and one 40-somethign year old with a big belly lifted his ahnds slowly as if to tell me to slow down.

"erm.. where you go to"?
"Santorini"
"Noooooo... this is not santorini. Snatorini left 5 minutes ago" as he, like th marte-dee pointed towards the water, at the sailing ferry. I looked back at my beaten (we were all a train wreck) friends. Annie and Ruby we fast walking together, heads jutting forward, but heavy packs and wheeled luggage keeping the rest of them behind. And then karen was a bit further, with the heaviest of all luggages, the 14kg wheely.

sorry guys, this has to be continued later... I hope you're enjoying 'cause I'm havig a ball tellnig the story. Spoiler: we ended up flying to santorini and we just came back form the beach and main town!
