Intrepid tour
For those wanting to know what we will be doing for the next 3 weeks, here is the itinerary of the Intrepid Tour that we are participating in.

Day 1 Cairo
Meet our group in the wonderfully chaotic and colourful Cairo, a city mixed with ancient wonders.

Day 2 Mt Sinai
We will climb to the historic summit of Mt Sinai for panoramic desert views.

Day 3 Red Sea Beach Camp
We will be staying beach huts, relaxing and possibly snorkelling in the Red Sea.

Day 4 Aqaba
Crossing into biblical Jordan and relaxing at the seaside resort of Aqaba. It was once a trading hub between the Red Sea and the Far East, this city is now known for its completely unspoilt coral reefs.

Day 5 Wadi Rum
Spending the night in a desert camp with local Bedouin tribespeople, amid soaring sandstone cliffs and craggy rock formations.

Days 6-7 Petra
We will be exploring this astounding long-lost city carved out of a rose-coloured cliff face.

Days 8-9 Madaba
Floating in the Dead Sea and wander through Madaba, famous for its beautiful Byzantine mosaics. In Amman, perhaps climb the ruined Citadel.

Days 10-11 Damascus
Crossing the border into Syria and roaming the streets of ancient Damascus to learn the history of Salah ad-Din, the greatest Arabic hero ever.

Day 12 Palmyra
Visiting the remains of this former Silk Road city which rise hauntingly from the desert.

Day 13 Krak des Chevaliers
This imposing fortress remains one of the world's most impressive castles.

Days 14-15 Aleppo
Revelling in the excitement of the souq and possibly enjoy a rejuvenating scrub in a local Syrian hamam.

Day 16 Antakya
Wandering through the meandering warren of streets.

Day 17 Ihlara Valley
Meeting the locals and heading out on enlivening hikes in the beautiful Ihlara Valley.

Days 18-20 Goreme
Checking out the underground cities of Goreme and the whimsical fairy chimneys of Cappadocia.

Day 21 Istanbul
Exploring the fusion of East and West that is Istanbul.

Jayne of Arabia..
Aqaba, famous for being retaken from inland by the Arabs led by T.E. Lawrence.. then from there they raced the Army to Damascus. Let me know what it's like I'm a huge Lawrence fan, and I'd lvoe to go sometime
