Day 29: Jon Leaves Japan
Saturday, April 12, 2009

7:00am: Jon woke up and was bothering me.

8:30am: I finally woke up and washed my face. Jon and I ate breakfast (slice of bread, ham, and scrambled egg). There was no more peanut butter, so Jon had maple syrup. He liked it a lot. Btw, he liked the apple juice very much.

9:30am: Jon took a shower as I changed clothes and organized Jon's suitcases. They were a mess! I rolled his clothes and neatly placed everything.

10:00am: Jon and I went out to the supermarket. I bought him peanut butter, maple syrup, chocolate spread, lemon soda, and 2 small coke cans.

10:30am: We returned to my home and packed the things into the smaller suitcase. Then, we left. Before going to the train station, I bought Jon, BBQ sticks, and some rice. We also went to the 100 yen shop to buy some things for souvenirs for Jon's family. I bought a lot of stuff.

11:30am: We went to the Zoshiki station to Shinagawa to Tokyo to the Narita Express.

12:30pm: We bought our Narita Express tickets, they're expensive! Our train leaves at 1:03pm.

1:00pm: Jon and I board the Narita Express train. We quickly ate our BBQ sticks and rice. I drank some of Jon's lemon soda. During the ride, Jon wanted me to talk...but I was so sleepy and I was getting train sick.

2:00pm: Jon and I made it to Narita Airport. We walked so long just to get to North Wing Departures Area. I was with him when he checked the big bag. I thought he was going to check both... I stepped on the weighing machine...and realized I gained some more weight. Jon gained 2 lbs. I gained a total of 6 lbs since I arrived in Japan. I need to do something about this!

2:30pm: I wrote a letter to my family. Jon and I just realized that there were liquids and jelly spreads in his small suitcase. He gave me the 2 coke cans. He put the maple and chocolate spreads in a plastic bag to ask if it was ok. He went into the security. I saw him put away the maple syrup and chocolate spreads...they're going to be thrown away. I got sad. Jon and I went to the glass that divided us. We signed good bye. Sound couldn't travel through the glass. I saw Jon go. I got sad because I feel a bit alone.

3:10pm: I got some money from my Citibank because Jon had forgotten to bring the yen my mom was giving me. I thought I saved enough...but I'm actually running out. I reached the train station area and bought Express tickets to Shinagawa.

3:45pm: My train left Narita Airport and I fell asleep on the train. When I woke up, I bought chocolate from the cart and drank some coke. I didn't like how sweet that snack was...

4:45pm: I reached Shinagawa. I transferred trains to go to Zoshiki.

5:15pm: I made it to Zoshiki and walked home.

5:25pm: I made it home but no one was home. I checked my e-mail, facebook, and wrote a thank you letter to a new scholarship that I just won. I sent it to my mom by e-mail for proofreading and for her to send it.

6:30pm: My host family came back. I called my mom. I updated her on a few things. I told her about the thank you letter I sent. I also told her that Jon left Japan today, Saturday at 3:30pm, but he will actually arrive in America on that same Saturday around 3:25pm. He travels back in time. 😊 Isn't that amazing?

7:15pm: My host mom called me for dinner and I hung up with my mom. It was a long time since I ate dinner with my host family. Dinner was rice, meat, and miso soup with clams. It was really good. I got to eat this powdery stuff with mochi for dessert.

8:15pm: I spent time with my host family.

9:00pm: Manami and Yuzuki went to sleep. I took a shower, then I said good night to Daiki, who was watching Anime.

10:00pm: I watched the Tinkerbell DVD that I bought in January. It was actually VERY good. It was better than Ariel's Beginning. Then, I watched clips of Peter Pan on youtube. Tinkerbell is totally different from the Peter Pan movie. I also watched Peter Pan 2 on youtube.

3:00am: I went to sleep.

Sorry that I didn't take any pictures or video.
