Hey everyone!!

Still really behind with blog entries and some people are starting to nag (mentioning no names.. mum!!) so im going to try and speed through the rest of Australia, especially as I haven't got any pictures anyway until i get back home and get my hands on Gregs! :o)

We left Newcastle early in the morning and embarked on our 9 hour drive up to Byron Bay. I had my first attempt at driving which went quite well apart from a few tiiiiny minor incidents like once driving on the wrong side of the road... oops! But apart from that it was mostly fine! :o) We stopped off at a lovely remote beach on the way and spent the afternoon there so we wouldn't have to drive in the heat! We ended up getting to Byron Bay at about 10ish, dropped off the Swiss guy (we had given him a lift up to try and save on petrol money) and then tried to find our hostel.... which entailed us driving around confused for about an hour because the place we thought we had booked was closed and it took us ages to realise we had infact booked at a different hostel and then it took us even longer to find that hostel! Suffice to say we are both as bad as eachother on the organisation front and find it must more amusing to take a "lets just see what happens" approach which can occassionally backfire.... however, we didn't have to sleep in the car as we thought we would and everything turned out fine in the end, merely teaching us to perserve with our relaxed attitude to travelling as things do usually turn out fine no matter how much of a close shave it is! ;o)

Byron Bay was really nice.... we spent the 2 days on the beach, sunbathing, surfing and teaching Greg German! We also had a surfing lesson which wasn't actually that good, I didn' t like the guy very much and we didn't really get much help but oh well! In the evenings we cooked yummy meals and watched the tennis final which was really fun! We really missed the tennis when it had finished as we had to start deciding what to do in the evenings again hehe! :o)
