View from Nathon, and a much better first photo entry.
Awwwwe shiot, I really need to remember that the first picture I post goes on the cover of each entry, not to mention the whole Asia/Thailand page for the website. As I reflect onto that, there are some super amazing pics of sunsets, mountain ranges, temples and then there's me...wow, I have a picture of our Arctic Blast, Day 5 venturing out to the grocery store on the afore-mentioned 8-2, and a super super super close up of Shaun and me. I'll try and work on that, I promise. and then I need to ask him to start proof-reading my blogs because I'm about 98%!s(MISSING)ure that's not how you refer to what you had talked about previously. Ok, secondly, the 8-deuce is really SE 82nd in Portland. My P-town friends don't need the explanation, but this is the street in Portland that is super seedy and

always good for people, I mean prostitute, I mean people watching. Every city has one...in Denver it's Colfax, in Chicago it's Roosevelt, you get the picture. Oh, and it separates Lents District from our District...Felony Flats, which I have always thought should really be dubbed Misdemeanor Flats, I'm sure back in the day like 1998 that was appropriate when the Falafel Mafia reigned, but really it's mostly petty crime, no biggie, right? That's what we thought when we bought a house there roughly 5 years ago. How we've been wronged in Felony Flats?....last year someone chucked a half rotten pumpkin into the windshield of Shaun's KIA and shattered it, deeming it totally illegal to drive. Not that it stopped him though, I think we finally got rid of the KIA in the summer to the lucky Kidney Foundation-they reluctantly accepted. This year the Pathfinder was spray painted, not with anything cool either, just a bunch of scribbles with a letter or number deciphered sparatically. Oh and by the way, when you and your buddies think it's cool to sneak out and spray paint cars use a different color paint than the car, dummies...I actually

thought the silver paint on my silver car kinda blinged it out a bit-oooh, sparkly and b] it comes right off the windshield...dummies, if you really want to piss someone off, take the time to paint the rubber edge around the windows, it doesn't really come off.
Phew! Glad I got that out of my system. So, Saturday was a bit of a blur. Still not feeling too well, plus all miles between home and here....roughly 5,500. Oh, ok the 15 hours ahead makes a bit of difference too, we really won't get this nailed down for another week, really. After we were united with Poupe [Poo-Pay, not Poo-Poo...her words, not mine) OMG...I found it, wait let me try again...(((....and the other way))))) Wow, so exciting!!!! So, Poupe called her friend to pick us up to take us to the store, should of taken about 10 minutes to the little village of Nathon (Nay-ton)...however, today there was no school and a Children's Festival happening and about an hour later we pulled over to a little market (about 5 notches above 7-11...to which there is no shortage by the way, note to self: if you don't do your grocery shopping at

7-11 while your home...why would you think do it abroad? Everyone that we pass is always packed with, yup you guessed it...foreigners.) We loaded up on the necessities...a case of Sinhga...local brew, 2 bottles of wine (holy cow...they were about $20 bucks a piece, I'll have to drink more beer for sure), a pack of noodies (that was what the English translation comes to, we thought that was funny and hope to call all noodles from here on out, noodies) some chicken and some crazy Garlic/Spice packetWho doesn't love a double orange Hibiscus?Who doesn't love a double orange Hibiscus?Who doesn't love a double orange Hibiscus?
your child in front of you kinda funny, but in a comic realm of understanding that Brit does this in the US, no biggie kinda funny way.
We went for a swim, ate our noodies and then we were in bed by about 6pm local time, not waking until for over 12 hours. Awwwwwe, sleep...so good!

Thanks William! For the clarification of my Thai Brussell Sprout is indeed Papaya. Funny that we didn't recognize it the first day.
