Happy (late) Thanksgiving to everyone! They have Christmas in Japan but thanksgiving doesn't happen. I miss it. I hope everyone back home ate a ton of turkey and mashed potatoes then passed out on the couch. It wasn't the American thanksgiving, but just by coincidence, on Thurdsay we had a massive meal with quite a few guests over. No turkey, but it felt good to be around a table with a bunch of people eating a ton. I'm going to put the details of the meal on my food blog
so take a look here. I did get a little homesick tonight, not being around for one of the big holidays, but a Japanese-style Thanksgiving meal, even if unintentional helped alot and so did the Thanksgiving breads and cookies that mom sent from the USA.
I have to reiterate again that my family is amazing to me. For the first time today I was called the Japanese term of endearment for "older brother." I also have gotten my own tea cup, rice bowl, and chopsticks to use at meals which is a pretty big deal. If I cant bring by chopsticks back home I need to by something similar looking. They're pretty sweet looking.

Jealous!
Wow, it takes a lot to top my mom's dinner spreads, but I think that sushi there just might. I gotta go over to your place for eats sometime.
