3rd November- So the day of reckoning finally arrived and in our usual state of disorganisation we get up with an hour to spare before we have to leave to go to the airport. Greg seems cool as a cucumber but I am running about stressed trying to remember if we have packed everything. Ask Greg about twenty times if he has the tickets and he tells me that he is going to kick me out of the plane if I don't shut up. Finally get to the airport and am so embarassed and stressed when going through customs I am asked to empty the contents out of my bag and get checked for drugs. Obviously it is fine but it doesn't really help to settle my nerves! The flight down to London goes smoothly and although we have 2 hours to wait in Heathrow, it goes by really quickly. Finally board the big plane i've been dreading (even though Greg reassures me it is just a big bus with wings like his mum told him). Am totally amazed and don't feel as nervous now i've actually seen it. The flight is long but not too bad. Start to get restless after about 8 hours and feel guilty that we have to keep asking the guy on the outside seat to move to let me out all the time.

4th November- Arrive at Singapore airport which is about a hundred times better than Glasgow airport and every single person is very friendly and smiley. I am slightly less smiley after travelling for so long and Greg wisely knows to leave me alone for a while! The flight to Perth is fine too and we both sleep for most of it.

5th November- Can't believe we have actually been travelling for over a day and feel knackered! We both can't wait to get to bed but when we arrive at the hostel the front door and gate are locked up. There isn't even a light on inside and I start to panic that I made a mistake that reception is 24 hours. Luckily there is an outside buzzer which we try three times. After no response we start to think we'll be kipping on the kerb when eventually a guy with no shoes or socks finally stumbles out to let us in. We can tell he isn't amused at being woken up at 5am! He shows us our room which is slightly bigger than a shoe box but it is clean and the bed is comfy which is all that really matters. Off to bed for some well earned kip and to get ready for the next days adventure....

hey there!
ah hah, now I understand why we didnt hear a peep from you leading up to you going! You were either asleep or flapping about trying to find things! Just as well really as we were getting over the whole factory in the upstairs flat thing and had police standing by for three days and being on the BBC website has been a bit freaky!! the flat is pretty ruined in huge parts and having my mate here was lush but just meant we didnt sort out saying goodbye to you both which is horrid. It sounds like you are already having a ball, and some sensory overload for you both! I could kill the upstairs landlady, it is such a surreal thing to happen and I am still in shcok! Big hugs to you both. We are soooo jealous and have flu type bugs so you just lap it up whilst you can xxxx
