Today we drove from Ballina to Main Beach via the Tourist Drive which took us through Lennox Head and Byron Bay. A very scenic road. The lookout at Lennox Head provided us with a magnificent view of the coastline.
We were about 1 block away from the Main Beach Caravan Park when the power steering went on the car. Luckily Steve could control the van for the last 10 minutes of the trip and get us into the Main Beach Caravan Park. The Park staff kindly put the van on-site for us and gave us a phone number for a mechanic. We were very lucky that we had almost arrived at our destination before the steering belt gave way.
The mechanic was very good and fixed the car that afternoon (it was just a broken steering belt which was not too costly).
Michael came and met us at the van park and we purchased fish and chips from 'Petes' for dinner.
