Hi All

Today was my last day in Taiwan 😞 I fly out to Hong Kong tomorrow morning, so i finally went to the zoo which was ace, the sun was out in full and so were the people due to it being a public holiday. Taipei zoo is far bigger than any zoo I've been to in England and its ridiculously cheap 😊 Usually it cost $60 (1pound) but because today was Taiwan's independence day it was half price so it cost me 50p!!! They have loads of animals there from all over the world including Lions, Tigers, Leopards, Elephants, Wolves, Penguins, Rhino, Giraffe, and Monkeys to name a few. The zoo used to be very close to the city and was very small but a few years ago they moved it to allow the animals to have more room and to be away from the pollution, it is so big i spent 6 hours there and didn't even see all the animals before it closed, i then caught the MRT to Shillin Night market which is the biggest and most popular night market here in Taipei, it takes up most of the town and the streets are littered with people selling clothes, food, watches and general nik naks. Whilst i was there i saw some really strange things being sold including caramelized tomato on a stick which is the equivalent of a toffee apple lol and there was a restaurant where the seats are toilets! I also brought a Tapioca Pearl iced milk Tea which is pretty much cold tea with black gooey balls inside that you suck through a straw, it was very sweet but quite nice. Inside one of the buildings there was a mall with arcade machines and carnival style games and then round the corner there were people selling puppies, kittens and rabbits! Which took me back a bit but they seemed as if they were looked after. Because i have to be up early tomorrow i had to leave Shillin earlier than i wanted to.

Anyway i have to hit the hay I've got a long day ahead of me tomorrow

Take Care

Alex
