Flea and Tick treatment check?

Hahahah! Applied Fletchers flea and tick stuff just before leaving home...a few miles down the road I was overcome by an urge to give him a few smoochy nuzzles on his neck. I felt something wet with my lips and thought oops! My lips immediately went numb. I am now truly prepared for this trip.

Found some smarty-pants tips for things to pack on this trip courtesy of RickSteves.com. Rick was our travel guru when my sister and I travelled in Italy a few years ago. So...we have wrapped some duct tape around a pencil (2 tools in one..), a plastic rain poncho well, for if it rains I guess, but more importantly to spread on the ground for picnics (which we plan to do on deserted beaches right after we break into a rousing rendition of "lay all your love on me" (from Mama Mia..and I can assure you Gord will sound waaay better that Pierce Bronson did, and I much worse than Meryl)). Zip lock bags, and of course anyone that has ever stayed with me knows I never go anywhere without a selection of bag clips.

One of the best tips I got from Rick was to give yourself an artificial departure date 2 days before your real one. That way you are ready to roll and can just relax for a few days. I did this before going to Italy and it really works! I 'll add something to that concept: right before you leave and are at that maximum stess point that leaves you feeling like you don't even want to go, have dinner at a good friends house! I did this Fri and it was the best thing I could have done. Thanks W & J, the homemade cantaloupe ice cream was sooo good as was your company!

A farewell Chinese take-out dinner with my mother-in-law last night, an excellent sleep and now we are finally going to Greece! Must go now and hydrate! B & G
